While existing SMS solutions rely simply on the mobile phone number or a userID/password to authenticate the user, the SecureSMS platform utilizes 2-factor authentication already deployed by banks or the DORIS standard endorsed by the Singapore Government to ensure that the data and transactions are utmost protected without sacrificing any of the convenience that the mobile phone provides.

The adoption of the DORIS standard in the SecureSMS platform means that the mobile phone client application is in accordance with the ICAO ePassport standard, opening the potential to deploy the SecureSMS platform worldwide.
